Cosplay Prep
The week before AN I wasn’t feeling too well. I had a runny nose, cough, and possibly a fever (oh my o_o). Then on Friday (27th) I stayed up until 1:30 am working on my haku cosplay. I had to get the head thing done (I have no idea what you call it, btw) and then on Saturday (the only day I stayed at the con) my headband was falling every now and then (omfg), plus I didn’t buy too much (ugg =__= I hear my mom telling me in my head that spending is bad, I hope she will repay me by letting me go shopping crazy at HK) but I managed to stay...

Crazy Bleach Rant
Anyway, about the Bleach. At first, I was like “yay IchigoxRukia!". Then I went IchigoxIshida. When Renji was introduced, I liked IchigoxRenji. Somewhere along the way, I stared enjoying IshidaxOrihime (don’t ask why, it just suddenly happened ._."). Again, I swtched pairings, and went IchigoxOrihime. When I watched the anime just recently, I started liking likeing RenjixRukia. I saw bits and pieces of their past inthe manga, but I haven’t downloaded every single one of them in order. actually, I’m missing a huge chunk of...

Watching Princess Mononoke
Sunday... oh sweet sunday... nothing sucks more than you. So today granny and gramps went home. Embarrasingly enough they got me rather drunk yesterday so i've been feeling a bit bad today. Went to Malmö this afternoon with my family and Elisabeth to go look at museum with the theme "the brain". It was a bit too scientific and unintersting for me so i mainly went to the older Samurai expo that was next to it. Got home late afternoon and watched Princess Mononoke with Elisaneth and my brother and sister. It was a really good anime flick and i will surely watch it again sometime, next up is my neighbour totoro however.

If I Start Writing Fan-Fics, Shoot Me...
The sad part about this is, when I am done posting this, I’m going to go play KotOR, while I fall farther, and farther into the obis that is “CosPlay.” Help me, steady employment and personal hygiene, you’re my only hope.

It's Just A Phase, Right?
Please tell me this is a normal phase that 4 and a half year old boys go through! It is beginning to be a bit creepy. It's not like he is watching a bunch of shows where people die, he is watching Pokemon, Mucha Lucha, and a bunch of goofy, non-death type movies. When I tell him I don't like to hear him talking about dying he says, very practically, "But we all die Mom". True, but Geez.

The Legend Of Zelda
I don’t have much else to say. It has an optional collecting subgame, just like so many games in the post-Pokemon era, but it’s not too tedious: I actually ended up collecting all the figurines. Lots of optional things to do if you’re in the mood to scour the countryside again after your first trek through; I enjoyed the game enough to do most of it. The shrinking gimmick in the game was pleasant enough. All in all, a well done incremental improvement over previous 2D Zelda games; there are a lot worse things for a game to be.

Doesn't Like Anime
Ahhh Anime cartoons!! I hope you read my reviewer bio before you submitted to me? You will have noticed I’m not a fan of Anime or Manga cartoons. They are everywhere!! So it wasn’t a good idea to pick me to do your review. But of course I’m not going to deduct lots of points because of what I like… that would be unfair!! So instead.. I have deducted two for the Anime and the rest is for the lack of interest on your layout, you’ve basically stuck in a image and faded it at the bottom. Also, you’ve lost marks because...
Well they are all Anime and Manga (I think, don’t know the difference), which doesn’t sit well with me. A plus though is the little persons head on the top of the menu’s they look pretty cool.
As previously mentioned I’m not a fan of Anime/Manga, but I suppose I can’t deduct too many points for that. It’s just that you seem to see it on so many layouts!! Drive’s me nuts. I do like how you have blended the image into the tables though, so you’ve definatly got points for that! And the tables are tidy. So you haven’t lost many marks for this. But, the font for “Wy Designz” ahh!! it’s gross… please change it.

UGotGame Pro
UGG Pro was great. I never went to a gaming convention nor a cosplay event before because I never thought I’d be interested, but this one was just great. The games were really cool, and the cosplayers looked really cute. Two really wonderful bands played at the closing ceremony too - one played progressive rock, while the other one was into J-Pop. All was great.

Report: Anime Central 2005
Anime Central 2005 was a lot of fun. It's probably the best con I've gone to so far, although that may be more because I'm a whiny bitch than actual content, but I had a great time in any event. I could write a lot about what happened but for now here are my photos. (Dial-up and slow connection warning).

Strong Forces This Weekend
Well, I just left the Switch Island Odeon cinema about 50 minutes ago and let me be one of the first in the country to say the newest Star Wars film was awesome. It definatly without a doubt makes up to the last two films poorerperformances but that’s not to say they were terrible, they were alright in my opinion but of course nothing beats the first trilogy. The cinema was packed when we got there and so I expect the film at other cinemas will also be packed, especially during peak times, ie the weekend at 6pm. Whilst we were there we even...

For more on the new games consoles, check out Games! Games! Games! here at Blog Carnival.Well, what I’ve seen of the Revolution, the next Nintendo console, doesn’t really impress me much. All they showed off was a protoype, not a final design, and the games they announced were all stuff like “We’re going to be bold and break new ground, do things that have never been done before! So, the games that are coming out are Metroid, Mario, Mario Party, Pokemon
, and Zelda

Review: Full Metal Alchemist
On a lighter note, have used that one day of work absence to finally finish watching and burning all 51 episodes of Hagane no Renkinjutsushi (Full Metal Alchemist for the Japanese-impaired), but - AAARGGH. Not only did my second most favorite person die (third actually, since my fave is a toss-up between Roy and Armstrong), but there was no closure whatsoever at the series’ ending!! I am an blissfully apathetic little retard when it comes to the social workings of society and have no real desire to find out how it ends, but I demand non-ambiguous endings for my anime, because I can’t stand NOT to know the undecided resolutions that leaves viewers painfully guessing what happens long after the series is through!

Yu-Gi-Oh For Nothing
“Yu-Gi-Oh is an anime created for no reason other than to promote toys (playing cards, to be specific). Realizing this, along with the fact that the target audience for this anime is kids, might have made it easy to go easy on Yu-Gi-Oh. Unfortunately for Yu-Gi-Oh, however, it was proven that it is very much possible to make a descent anime out of a toy/game (i.e Medabots, which is no masterpiece, but is most definitely enjoyable). And Yu-Gi-Oh fails utterly being enjoyable. Very much the same way, it fails on every other aspect too?.

Review: Appleseed Limited Edition
This is a new age anime. It seems that all of it was done with computers and CG. While there is still Cel-Shading, it appears that it was still done with the help of computers. Not that I am complaining about this at all, by any means. It actually looks prettier this way. The meld between CG and Cel-Shading has been done before, but this takes it to a new level. The story takes place in a Utopia called Olympus. Human race has dwindled and now half of the population is now made up of Bioroids, which are essentially cyborgs. This movie was...

Dragon Ball Z Screen Captures

Plan Ahead For Your Cosplay
cosplay dilemma: sam and i need either unitards or leotards/tights for our saint seiya costumes, turquoise and lilac ( >P ) respectively. i did find one place that has lots of unitards in many different colors for fairly decent prices but almost all of their items say “allow 3 to 5 weeks for shipping.” plus the colors aren’t exactly right. like the lilac/lavender is a bit too dark, or the turquoise isn’t quite the right shade. but since our armor is going to be so awesome, and the characters are so obscure, getting the exact shade of the unitard right isn’t vital. and so i emailed the place, asking about rushing an order, and here’s what they said:

Azumanga Daioh
You may be asking yourself: “What the heck does Azumanga Daioh mean anyway?”. Well, the creator of the original manga is named Kiyohiko Azuma (Azuma + Manga = Azumanga) and the manga was first published in a magazine called Dengeki Daioh. Kiyohiko Azuma’s Manga published in the Dengeki Daioh magazine ends up being Azumanga Daioh. I have also heard it described as the Kanji used for Daioh meaning “great king” so it would be interpreted as “Great king Azuma’s manga”. You can decide which one you prefer.

War Re-enactment Or Cosplay?
I have never seen a war re-enactment in person, but I imagine it must impose a striking sense of surreality watching men willingly re-enact such mind-bogglingly horrific events. Maybe in some twisted way it highlights that senselessness, and that's the point -- to make you realize the folly of it all.
On the other hand, maybe it's all just a bunch of hyper-violent macho cosplay.

More Violence Than Expected
I have been letting MOOKA handle most of the politics to let him have free reign in that area so I can focus on other things like my upcoming test for Win2k3 Server and paying more attention to Little Sarge. I believe I have learned more about Dragon Ball Z and Teen Titans in the past few months than I have about ANY Microsoft product. Yes, Little Sarge has become addicted to super heroes and Japanese Animation. I have to be really careful about Dragon Ball Z though, most of it is harmless, but I found out differently with one Dragon Ball Z movie I bought for him. I’ll never make that mistake again….it wasn’t bad, just had a little more violence in it than I had thought it would. I guess I’ll look online more before I do that again.

Manga Maiden Eyes
Now the latest craze is deep black lenses that make their peepers look like the wide-eyes of manga characters.
Thanks to a steady diet of manga and anime, Tokyo teens have come to admire the outsize peepers on hand-drawn heroines. “The bigger the character’s eyes, the cuter they look,” says 15-year-old Yumi Koba. And now, thanks to Share Generate’s Nadesicco Black, emulating Sailor Moon is no longer a dream.

That’s a lot, considering I have the shortest attention span known to mankind.. which explains the lousy flow of thought in my journal entries :P But anyway! Hitchhiker's Cosplay?
So… The massive cosplay went underway Friday. As I was not there, I don’t know how pathetic it was - nor how good the movie was. I’ll likely hear both rants and raves on school on Tuesday, but that’s to be expected. Some people will bitch that it wasn’t an exact carbon-copy of the book, others that it was too much like the books, and so on. So… people who went, post reviews about ‘The Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy’ here.
