Anime Los Angeles, a new Japanese-animation convention created by fans for fans, held its first annual meeting at the end of January in the Van Nuys area. Truly a gathering of enthusiasts, the event was brimming with cosplayers from all walks of fandom, including original-character costume designs such as the J-Rocker and Master Zero. There was even a “Costume Repair Station” for “emergencies.”
